Hilos en el aire

Threads in the air immerses us in the fascinating world of Concha Méndez, a world of poems, seas and journeys. The starting point and reference are her memoirs: Spoken memories, assembled memories, written by her granddaughter Paloma Ulacia from a series of meetings between them and recorded religiously every week for several months. With Threads in the air we wanted to pay tribute not only to the creative and artistic woman, but also to that adventurous, tenacious, tireless spirit; to the ship captain she dreamed of being as a child, to the poet in the blue overalls, as she was called in her time, to the grandmother in exile who gathered her memories to tell her granddaughter a fascinating life, a life that deserves to be told. The show is a collective and original creation that unites Concha's two passions: poetry and theatre. With a dramaturgy based on her memoirs and poems, we bring to the stage a proposal that combines shadow theatre, objects and audiovisuals.
