Alas

It is true that as María Parrato Puppets we have been showing our proposals on stage for twenty-five years, with shows such as: “Pepitín’s Adventures”, “Many Moons Ago”, “A Christmas Carol”, “The Spotted Cat and the Swallow Sinha”, “Don’t Be Scared by My Name”, “Ping. The Bird Who Couldn’t Fly”, “Candy Words”, “Roads”, “Chickens and Muffins”, “The Old Man and the Sea”, “Wings” and our latest production “The Artist Hen, or Tomás’s Pumpkins”.
We've toured almost all of Spain and many countries in Europe, America, and Asia. It's true that our productions have received numerous awards and prizes: best show at TEATRALIA, FETEN, the FIRA de TITELLES de LLEIDA, the MAX, the NATIONAL AWARD...
We have directed shows for other companies such as: “Grandfather’s House” by La Rous, “Small, Small” by Gurdulu Teatro, “Clara Embroidered Letters” by Mai Teatro Cia or “Retales” by Yarleku Teatro.
But it is also true that all this has not made us renounce a philosophy, a way of doing things, a way of understanding theatre because:
“We want to keep playing.
It seems that when you stop growing, you no longer play.
We've already grown up, but we want to keep playing.
Maybe there is a way to grow that cannot be seen…
Maybe you can grow inward…
We wish we had our whole lives to play. Even though we are adults
we have that need to be free.
All this we want, all this we hope for and find on the scene.
We play like children. We create worlds to explore and it turns out
that we daydream.
What a beautiful thing it is to share a dream...
a created but true reality.
A fictitious experience but one that feeds even more.
A shared dream. A dream multiplied by all of us in the theater. Nature (ours) flows along the paths of uncertainty, of the new, of the important…
You let yourself go and wake up refreshed.
“Those next door… too.”
