Sargantana Circ Inclusiu

Spain
Since the project's inception, we've collaborated with more than 20 social and youth organizations. In each organization, we formed a group of approximately 15 participants with diverse profiles. Initially, a professional circus instructor from Sargantana provided basic training in circus techniques, accompanied by educators from the various organizations. Once all the circus disciplines (clowning, acrobatics, balancing, juggling) were presented, each participant chose which discipline to specialize in and further develop. We then moved on to the creative phase, with solo, duo, and group performances. These performances have been exhibited at various events run by each organization and others outside of it, showcasing their work to the general public. In parallel to our local project, we carry out European youth exchanges through the Erasmus+ program with European organizations and associations in the circus/social sector, similar to ours. These exchanges involve young people and people with disabilities who participate in Finestra Inclusiva, living together and participating in joint activities related to the circus and performing arts with groups of participants from these collaborating organizations, both in Valencia and in cities such as Naples, Setubal, Edinburgh, and more. This project aims to empower these individuals by improving their physical, motor, and social skills, their autonomy, and their self-esteem, thus increasing their social recognition, their inclusion in society, and improving their quality of life. We also strive for social awareness, visibility within the art world, and identification by other people with disabilities, facilitating an approach to the performing arts world.

The Visibles Festival of inclusive art was founded in 2016 to provide a space for performing artists with disabilities by offering them a professional environment in which to exhibit their creations, show the public new realities, create a space for analysis and discussion around the vision of disability in the performing arts, promote and support the production of shows that include people with disabilities in their teams, and also support and create accessible theater so that everyone has the option of enjoying the performing arts, whether on stage or in the stalls.

Barcelona
YURDANCE is a dance collective founded in Barcelona in 2014. It is based on the experimentation of non-normative bodies and translates these singularities into tools of creation and expression. The goal of our pieces is to provoke in the viewer a reflection on the stereotypical perception of how we view and value the "other." It is also to reclaim a place in the current art scene.
