Gentlemen I am It is a hilarious comedy for all audiences, about Miguel de Cervantes; The man who fought victoriously in the crusades against the Great Turk, was defeated in the battles against prejudice, envy, insults... loving ingratitude and incomprehension of his literary production. Cervantes fades as a writer to be reborn as the knight of the sad figure he always wanted to be, narrating in the first person and with the help of the public, the most famous adventures written in his immortal Ingenious Knight Don Quixote of La Mancha. We have taken our adventures to places as wonderful as the House of Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares, the House of Cervantes in Valladolid, the House of Lope de Vega in Madrid, the House of Dulcinea in El Toboso or the Almagro festival and we have visited dozens of towns and cities of our peninsula. We adapt to all types of ages, changing language and actions to reach all audiences and diversify because that is what it is about, reaching the greatest number of people possible so that they know our intentions and the values we want to instill.

We want to emphasize that Cervantes, at the age of 24, was an invalid and a stutterer, yet he knew how to get up and reinvent himself again and again until he achieved the success of Don Quixote. This is the value we want to transmit to students. In this world nothing and no one can prevent your goals, not even a disability (where the idea is culturally rooted that having a functional diversity you need help to get ahead) if what moves you are your gifts and talents. Education would have to emphasize helping the student discover what their virtues and vocations are, in order to create a free, emancipated and happy society. We will show the students the work Knight I am, so that they can see the life and adventures of Miguel de Cervantes in a fun, educational, reflective and interactive way. One consideration to take into account is that one of the actors has a language dysfunction. You can barely understand him when he speaks, but we have played with gestural language for this representation. If this dysfunction is not known, it will not be noticed. Therefore, what we want is for them to discover that nothing is impossible in this life and that even those who have some dysfunction can do, laugh, cry or feel those who think that because they do not have all the capabilities they cannot do many things. In this case the theater is an example of this. The project includes the meeting of the students with the actors.

YURDANCE is a dance collective founded in Barcelona in 2014. It is based on the experimentation of non-normative bodies and translates these singularities into tools of creation and expression. The goal of our pieces is to provoke in the viewer a reflection on the stereotypical perception of how we view and value the "other." It is also to reclaim a place in the current art scene.
